ice fishing

While we were in Hazelton before Christmas Mikel got a chance to go ice fishing with his dad and some others.

Any chance to fish is a good day in Mikel's life!

Hazelton 100 Year Celebration

These pictures are long overdue but are from the Hazelton Celebration we went to at the end of June.

Boy Scouts starting out the parade...
Harold and Shirley receiving the plaque for being Grand Marshalls...

 Other people in the parade...

 Post-parade...

And the Celebration at the park... these kids were all catching fish with their hands...

 Mini petting zoo...

It was a very fun weekend and good to be closer to family!

back in MT

We are finally both back in Montana!

Last week we were lucky enough to go back to Hazelton for the big Celebration. It's nice to be close enough to make these trips!

Our laptop is temporarily out of service so I'm a little behind on getting pictures off my camera but here's a few from Mikel's phone...

Mikel and his dad went fishing on Friday...

 Pretty pretty...

This is part of the rides and games that were set up for the weekend...
Treasures from the games...
Notice Mikel's "gold tooth" and the sweet doll they won me?!

It was good to see family and after the weekend I worked my first volleyball camp of the summer in Idaho Falls.

Pocatello

When we were in Pocatello, we went bowling and had to share this sign...
We also went and threw horseshoes after the wedding. Jesse came in town to visit too.
I'm getting better at horseshoes but still won't play against Mikel. I'm not a fan of losing...

things were going so well...

Then we got busy apparently and the blog has been slacking. Whoops...

We are all settled in to our new home and are getting to know our way around town. This weekend we went to Pocatello for a wedding. Besides it being FREEZING and outside, we had a really good time. We got to see old friends and celebrate a wonderful wedding.

This was the wedding...
 Josh and Andrea...
 Ahhhh...
This was the inside of the house/lodge where the wedding was. Yes, that's me on the right hovering around the fireplace.
It was great to see Katie and Mike get married as well as getting to see Josh and Anthony (a friend from ISU). We love an excuse to visit Pocatello!

fishing in Stanley

During his recent time in Idaho, Mikel was able to see family and friends, make a trip to Dillon to check out our new hometown (no home yet), and go fishing in Stanley during ISU's spring break.

He had a great time and is even more ready to move now! According to Wikipedia, Stanley had a total population of 100 at the 2000 census (no, I'm not missing any zeros) and elected a 22-year old female mayor in 2005 making her the youngest female mayor in the US. All this useful information I found out when I Googled the name of the city to make sure I spelled it right!

The fishing wasn't as good as last year but it's still fishing so how bad can it be!? Here are some pictures from the trip...
