monkeyball
So this past weekend we went to the Monkeyball World Championships. We didn't play because we weren't quite sure what to expect but it was pretty fun! A couple of the people I work with (who work for the Michigan State High School Athletic Association) organize the whole thing and promote it shamelessly year round. I've played the game before but never heard it called Monkeyball; it's also called Ladder Toss, Blongo Ball, Hillbilly Horseshoes, and a bunch of other things. It's a popular tailgating game and, as PE majors, we played it at ISU!

The last stop on our cruise was Victoria, BC. I had never been to Canada before and this was a beautiful city. I still have to get some pictures from Matt but these are some of the ones we got!
This is apparently a famous hotel-- The Empress
We walked around this outdoor market that was right by all the docks. There was even a band playing on the back of one of the boats!
Street performers...
Mona Lisa done in chalk on a sidewalk...
And back on the boat one last time... I hate when vacations end!

just cruisin' #7 towel creatures
The crew left the coolest towel creatures in our room each night when they turned down the bed. I didn't get pictures of them all but these were some of them...

Our next stop was Ketchikan...
It was the most touristy/developed stop in Alaska but was an adorable city. This is where our friends Josh and Shad, who have worked in Alaska over the summer fishing, stop with their fishing boats.
Part of the city is across the creek in buildings built on stilts over the water. This apparently used to be a red-light district in the city but now is little shops. So cute!
We saw some huge salmon in the river as well as a seal!

just cruisin' #5 family pictures
After a fun day in Sitka we had a formal dinner which provided a great opportunity to take a bunch of family pictures.
We got about every combination we could ever want and they came out great!
Ahhhh.... aren't we cute!?!
