Moores Park and pretty colors

Today, before Mikel went to work (and in between my office hours and teaching) we drove around campus looking at pretty colors and then headed to Moores Park.

That is the Breslin Center behind the pretty trees...

A pretty tree in downtown Lansing, right outside Moores Park...

Moores Park is a park in downtown Lansing that has an old power plant, a river, swimming pool, playground. It's extra pretty right now with all the leaves changing colors.

Quack!!
This is the power plant. Mikel came out and fished the river that runs by the power plant yesterday and may go again tomorrow. There apparently are salmon in there and he caught one. I actually could see some in the water with his polarized sun glasses...

This is an old pool. It was designed by... someone important or there was something cool about it (I don't remember at the moment). It is egg shaped, I do remember that. I'll have to google it.

Stairs into the park where we got a view of the top of the pool...

Tonight after class I went to the Breslin Center to watch the volleyball team play Michigan. They got outplayed and lost in 3 but it was fun to see that many people at a game. Almost everyone was seated on the sides so there was actually more people there than the picture shows...
The first game went to 33-31 (games to 25). Close but no cigar...
